Curatorial projects in the Závodný Gallery, Mikulov 2017–2026

Mr. Hans-Peter Riese, a German journalist, art curator, and author of numerous monographs and art publications, is an inspiring and exceptional individual. He possesses the gift of perceiving and evaluating art with deep sensitivity, as well as a genuine ability to listen to its creators. Thanks to his openness, empathy, generosity, and dedication, a wealth of scholarly texts, exhibition projects, long-standing friendships, and enduring connections have come into being. In all its diversity, art has found in him a true ambassador, while artists have gained a patron and a passionate curator.

Závodný Gallery has had the opportunity to collaborate with Mr. Riese since 2018. During this period of intensive cooperation, 12 solo exhibitions were organized. On the occasion of Hans-Peter Riese’s jubilee, Závodný Gallery, together with Arne Schreiber, prepared a retrospective of his curatorial projects.
