born 1936, Bern, Switzerland
Christian Megert /born 1936 in Bern/ explores the fragile interdisciplinary interface between architecture and art through his work. He is a visionary who, in his object realizations, transforms the established perception and essence of the observed object and its immediate surroundings, shaping new meanings in their mutual interaction and offering stimuli for interpretation by the observer. He also developed his artistic concept as a professor at the Düsseldorf Academy at the Department of Integration of Art and Architecture /1976-2002/.
The beginnings of Megert‘s work are associated with kineticism, together with the Zero group he realized environmental projects in the form of kinetic and light objects, as well as objects with a mirror effect. In 1968, he participated in the 4th documenta contemporary art show in Kassel, Germany. He works with various materials /mirror shards, metal, stone, light effects, and the color spectrum/.
Mr. Christian Megert and the curator of the exhibition, Mr. Hans-Peter Riese, will be present at the opening of the exhibition.
